Provincial Rebates

Heat pump rebates and grants are available from the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia, in collaboration with BC Hydro and FortisBC

  • Air-source heat pump: up to $11,000*​
    • Provincial: up to $6,000*
    • Federal: up to $5,000
  • Ground-source heat pumps​: up to $5,000
    • Federal​: up to $5,000
  • Air-to-water and water-heater heat pumps: $5,300​
    • Provincial: up to $4,300
    • Federal​: up to $1,000

*Municipal top-ups may also be available

Ductless Heat Pumps

A variable speed compressor is required

  • Mini-split​
    • ​Home must be 1,200 sqrft or less​
    • $1,000 – $6,000
  • Multi-split​
    • Requires at least two indoor head units​
    • ​$1,000 – $6,000

Ducted Heat Pumps

  • Central Ducted
    • ​A variable speed compressor is required
    • $2,000 – $6,000
  • Dual-Fuel Central Ducted
    • A variable speed compressor is NOT required
    • ​$3,000

Air-to-Water Heat Pumps

Must be on the list of eligible products

  • Standalone Space Heating
    • $3,000
  • Combination Space and Water Heating
    • ​$1,000 – $4,000

Federal Rebates

The Government of Canada created the Greener Homes Grant to help you pay for a heat pump. Grant amounts will depend on the type of heat pump, and the level of efficiency.

  • Air-source heat pump: up to $11,000*​
